ELECTED TO LYAC

All the greats say if some offers you an experience you should figure it out…

well this was definitely one of those “Fuck it” moments.

In my final year at Western University I had been approached to run on a slate…

ok quickly, a slate was a new thing just put into student politics where rather than you run individually to become president you run on a team of three with the positions being: President, VP external, and VP internal

… as their VP external.

Now, I had not been very involved in student politics at all during my undergrad but as the switch to the new system and my experience throughout city events, having worked for the radio station and the local sports arena I had come recommended as an option. Having not a clue what I was committing to I obviously said yes and next thing I knew my ticket was on the ballot.

Well I may have not known anything about politics at the time we had the most viral campaign video and out performed everyone on social.
